great experience that allows high school students
to gain a greater understanding of the area
in which they live. It also allows students
from schools accross fayette county to form
lasting friendships and important connections.
I still have friends and keep in touch with
people that I met in LFC.

“Leadership Fayette County is a great
opportunity for teenagers to get involved with
their community and learn what it has to offer
them, as well as what they have to offer it.”
Welcome to the Leadership Fayette County Website. Leadership Fayette County is a program for selected high school juniors across Fayette County . The purpose of the program is to promote essential leadership qualities in the students while providing first hand experiences in the business, government, and tourism sectors of Fayette County , West Virginia . Each year, 12 students from across Fayette County are selected for the program and to participate in nine monthly sessions. Those who successfully complete the curriculum are awarded with a $500 college scholarship to the school of their choice. These scholarships are made possible by donations from the local business community through the 501 c3 Fayette County Education Fund, Inc. - for more information, contact Dave Pollard by emailing: goshawk@birding-wv.com.
Leadership Fayette County is jointly developed and delivered by the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, the Fayette County Board of Education, the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and the Fayette County Education Fund, Inc. It is modeled after the highly acclaimed and successful Leadership West Virginia Program developed in 1991 by the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the State of West Virginia .
